Sumter Cycling launches On the Move Challenge this September
AMERICUS, Ga. – Sumter Cycling is inviting the community to lace up their shoes, hop on a bike, and join the On the Move Challenge, a free, four-day fitness competition happening September 4th through September 7th.
The goal of the challenge is simple: walk, run, or bike as many miles as you can, track your progress, and earn points toward prizes. Participants can take part individually or team up with coworkers, classmates, or members of their church or civic group. The idea is to make it fun, engaging, and inclusive for anyone looking to stay active.
At the end of the challenge, winners will be recognized with rewards including Downtown Dollars or Chick-fil-A gift cards.
In addition to individual participation, Sumter Cycling has lined up several group events to bring people together throughout the challenge. Things kick off with a campus ride at Georgia Southwestern State University, followed by a “Bike to Work” morning to encourage commuting on two wheels. The weekend wraps up with Sumter Cycling’s monthly First Saturday Ride, which includes a free lunch for those who take part.
Organizers emphasize that the challenge is open to all ages and abilities. Whether someone chooses to walk around the neighborhood, take evening jogs, or log miles on their bicycle, every step and pedal counts toward the overall competition.
