Stabbing in the 300 block of E Oglethorpe Blvd

ALBANY, Ga. – On January 2, 2025, officers responded to the 300 block of E Oglethorpe Blvd for a stabbing around 1:00 A.M.

Upon arrival, they located the victim with several stab wounds to his chest and arms, with evidence of forced entry to the location. The victim stated, a male named Lorenzo Wimbush stabbed him. Allegedly, the victim was robbed when Wimbush paid him money to buy items for him. Once the victim returned to the location he told Wimbush that he was robbed and went into his apartment. Wimbush then kicked the door in and stabbed the victim.

The victim is currently in critical condition.

Wimbush was charged with Home Invasion, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Knife during certain crimes, he is currently in the Dougherty County Jail.
