Sowega Council on Aging hosts annual Public Hearing

ALBANY, Ga. – The Sowega Council on Aging is inviting seniors, caregivers, and community members to participate in its annual public hearing on Tuesday, October 21st at 9 a.m. The event will be held at the SCOA Regional Resource Center on West Society Avenue in Albany.

The hearing provides an opportunity for attendees to share ideas and feedback that help shape programs and services for older and at-risk adults across Southwest Georgia. This year’s discussion will focus on “Living Longer, Living Safely, and Living Well.”

“At the Sowega Council on Aging our mission is to empower seniors and their caregivers through resources, programs and services that promote independence and well-being,” said Izzie Sadler, Executive Director of SCOA.

“The Public Hearing is a vital time for us to listen directly to the voices of our community so we can better respond to the needs of those we serve.”

This is a great chance for the community to have a voice in shaping services that impact the lives of seniors and at-risk adults in the region. Those unable to attend in person can still contribute by submitting their thoughts online through the council’s Online Feedback Form.
