SOWEGA AgFest to celebrate agriculture with first-ever “From the Ground Up” parade in downtown Camilla
CAMILLA, Ga. – Downtown Camilla is gearing up to celebrate agriculture at the first-ever SOWEGA AgFest parade, happening Saturday, July 12th.
The parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m., with line-up starting at 8:30 and judging at 9. This year’s theme is “From the Ground Up”, honoring the hard work and roots of South Georgia’s farming community. The route winds through streets like Harney, Scott, and Broad, and every entry is asked to follow the theme or pay tribute to agriculture. Music has to be family-friendly and candy can’t be thrown from floats.
If you’d like to participate, applications for the parade are open. Email sowegaagfest@gmail.com to get started.
But, the parade is just the beginning! Other events include an art show and dinner, a bake-off, a farmers appreciation dinner, and a BBQ cook-off during the festival on July 19th.
Contact sowegaagfest@gmail.com or call 229-336-5255 for event applications.
