Southwest Georgia Regional Airport to conduct simulation of a plane crash, reminds citizens its only a test
ALBANY, Ga. – The Southwest Georgia Regional Airport (KABY) will conduct a full-scale plane crash drill tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23rd, at 9 a.m. But please keep in mind, this is only a test.
This required drill takes place once every three years to help emergency responders prepare for real-life situations.
You may see smoke, flames, or even hear loud noises coming from the airport and from nearby Albany Technical College (ATC), but again, there’s no cause for alarm.
All emergency personnel are aware of the drill.
It’s all part of keeping our community safe and prepared.
