Southern Regional Technical College Nursing program sees 100% pass rate on nursing exam

Nursing Graduate Paul Arvizu tells me community aspect of his classes and Southern Regional Technical College helped him push through.

TIFTON, Ga. – Not many educators can say that 100 percent of their students passed a nursing exam, but all the educators at Southern Regional Technical College can.

“We are very proud of our students they have worked hard over these past few months during the program and it’s been a struggle for a lot of them,” said Tarnishia Sirmans, ASN Instructor in AN Program.

But, that struggle turned into triumph.

“It was one of the hardest things, I’ve ever done in my life and to have finished it was one of the greatest accomplishments,” said Paul Arvizu, Graduate of program.

To be certified as nurses, the thirteen students in this class had to take a final exam called the N-Clex.

“The N-Clex has just recently changed, it was all multiple choice, now there’s a lot more questions as far as case studies,” said Kylie Morris, Faculty member of ASN Program.

But, the rigor doesn’t stop there.

“They have a chart they have to look at with different tabs to flip through to find information on the patient. They have to answer different types of questions, they have drag and drop,” said Morris.

“And, the whole college everyone was their to help us and whenever we felt like we just couldn’t push any further they always pushed us a little bit more, we all became like a family,” said Paul Arvizu, Graduate of program.Cam Sanders 8 1 23 01 Frame At 0m25s

No college is too small for you to fulfill your dream.

“Bigger colleges I feel like you just don’t get that one on one with the teacher and this is exactly what I wanted,” said Arvizu.
