South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: September 5, 2025

Hot & more humid this weekend. Heat index “feels like” values reach the upper 90s just below the century mark. A stray shower is possible on Saturday with a slightly better chance of isolated t’storms on Sunday. Another frontal passage will usher in less humid air mass and “false fall” slightly below average temperatures with highs in 80s and lows in 60s.

In the tropics,  the weak tropical wave (Invest 91-L) and associated broad area of low pressure has limited and disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity. Although upper-level winds and warmer sea surface temperatures are favorable for development, its proximity and entrainment of drier air may limit its development over the next couple of days. However, a tropical depression could still form early next week as the system moves westward at around 10 mph across the central tropical Atlantic. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should monitor its progress. The next named storm is Gabrielle.
