South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: June 24, 2025
One more day of dangerous heat with heat index “feels like” between 105°-107°. Actual air temperatures may reach the century mark. Heat Advisory remains in effect for northern communities until 8 pm Wednesday. Continue to practice heat safety! Stay hydrated! Take frequent breaks in the shade or A/C. Don’t forget to check the back seat and look before your lock! Summer heat waves tend to break violently. All of SWGA is now included in a Slight Risk (Level 2/5) of severe weather from late Wednesday afternoon thru the evening hours. Storm coverage may be more scattered or numerous in nature capable of producing damaging straight-line wind gusts, large hail up to quarter size, and, of course, dangerous frequent lightning. Better rain chances cools us down, but still seasonably hot into the weekend.
In the tropics, Atlantic hurricane season’s first named system Tropical Storm Andrea formed earlier today in the central Atlantic, but is no threat to land a “fish storm” and will dissipate over cooler waters.
