Heat wave builds the next few days to near dangerous levels with heat index “feels like” values 105°-108°. A heat advisory is in effect for northern counties 1 pm Tuesday-8pm Wednesday. Stay hydrated! Take frequent breaks in the shade or A/C! Don’t forget to check the back seat and look before you lock! At least it won’t be a prolonged one as the heat wave breaks with a round of strong to severe thunderstorms late Wednesday. Damaging wind gusts the primary threat, but small to medium size hail can’t be ruled out, and, of course, dangerous lightning. Better rain chances allows heat to be more seasonal over the weekend.
