South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: June 20, 2025
Summer officially begins this evening with the Summer Solstice at 10:42pm EDT. This marks when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer, or 23.5° N latitude. We’ll have the most daylight today ranging from about 14 hours and 15 minutes. Heat builds this weekend with chances for an isolated shower or t’storm. Hottest stretch of the year so far with a heat wave next week. Heat Index “feels-like” values will be in the triple digits (100°-105°). Thankfully humidity levels while muggy and uncomfortable may only barely reach the oppressive range to keep the heat from being near “dangerous” (108°-110°+) heat advisory criteria, but you should still use caution and limit your time outdoors. Practice heat safety. Stay hydrated! Look before you lock! Check the back seat!
