South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: June 18, 2025

Scattered showers and storms but seasonably hot for Juneteenth holiday. Rain chances turn more isolated in nature over the weekend. Hotter with heat index “feels-like” values near or at cautionary levels (100°-105°) for first weekend of Summer. Even hotter as heat wave builds as heat index “feels-like” values approach dangerous or advisory levels (105°-108°) next week. Use caution if you work outdoors. Practice heat safety. Stay hydrated! Look before you lock! Check the back seat!

In the tropics, the Atlantic remains quiet while the Eastern Pacific remains active with their fifth named storm Hurricane Erick. This is the fourth consecutive year with no preseason development in the Atlantic. On average, the first named storm forms in the Atlantic around June 20th. Tropical development is not expected during the next 7 days.
