South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: July 28, 2025
A few fair weather cumulus clouds, but not enough to completely block the sunshine’s ultraviolent rays. Widespread mid-upper 90s with “feels like” heat index 105°-108°. Are you ok, Camilla? It’s the highest “feels like” heat index or apparent temperature at 115°. And, Albany, GA is just 1° below Sunday’s high of 99°. Forecast high is 101° which would tie record in 2010. Heat Advisory & Extreme Heat Watch is now in effect thru Tuesday afternoon and evening. Heat indices will be higher tomorrow closer to GA/FL state line with higher humidity levels. Drier air heats and cools more readily than moist air, but an “air you can wear” air mass makes it feel hotter and more difficult for the body to cool off. Practice heat safety! Heat-related illnesses are likely if you don’t take the necessary heat safety precautions. Stay hydrated! Relief from the heat? Bring it on! An unseasonably strong cold front should push through Georgia later this week, ushering in cooler air for the weekend. Also, showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage as the front moves through. It may possibly even be cooler 10°-15° below average in the mid-upper 80s.
