South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: January 27, 2026

High level cloudiness may inhibit a hard freeze, but sub-freezing temperatures are still expected tonight. May flirt with a hard freeze Thursday morning with more ideal radiational cooling conditions such as clear skies, calm winds. Below average stretch holds, but not as cold to end the week. Next arctic blast surges in Friday night with scattered showers possibly transitioning to a few snow flurries on Saturday. Bitterly extreme cold conditions are expected this weekend with hazardous cold temperatures and/or dangerously low wind chills that could be even colder than earlier this week. Frigid lows in upper teens to low 20s with wind chills in the single digits to mid teens. Frostbite and/or hypothermia can occur if proper cold weather safety precautions are not taken.
