South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: December 2, 2025

Albany, GA received 1.59″ over the past 24 hours. That’s the most rainfall since mid–summer and more than all of meteorological fall. It wasn’t drought busting rainfall, but welcomed for sure. Chilly temperatures tonight. If clouds hold tight, lows won’t bottom out as low only in the upper 30s. If we do see the cloud deck break some by morning, lows could drop into the low–mid 30s with areas of patchy frost. Active weather pattern reloads for second half of week into the weekend. Rain returns in form of lighter showers by Thursday PM. Then, multiple rounds of rain with periods of heavy rainfall are expected Friday & Saturday. Rainfall totals could reach 2″– 4″ over the weekend. It’s a stratiform precipitation event, which means rainfall rates will generally be low and combined with dry soil conditions and river levels running low, the flash flooding threat is low at this time. But, with many holiday festivities and events planned this weekend make sure to have a contingency plan in place.
