South Georgia Weather Authority Forecast: August 28, 2025

Wetter and cooler than average pattern takes us into the Labor Day holiday weekend. Overrunning moisture from the Gulf along with weak disturbances riding along the stationary frontal boundary will result in periods of light to moderate to occasionally locally heavy rainfall. Drier with cooler mornings and warmer afternoons next week.

In the tropics, the last advisory has been written on Fernand. Elsewhere, a tropical wave is forecast to emerge off the west coast of Africa on Sunday. Thereafter, environmental conditions could support some slow development of this system while is moves westward to the west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic next week.
