ALBANY, Ga. – The following are confirmed school/college/university closures on Monday, August 5th due to Hurricane Debby:

  • Atkinson County Schools – Closed Monday, Aug. 5 and Tuesday, Aug. 6
  • Baker County Schools
  • Ben Hill County Schools
  • Berrien County Schools will delay opening of school A-K starts Wed., Aug. 7, L-Z starts Thurs., Aug. 8, all students return on Fri., Aug. 9
  • Coffee County Schools will delay the start of school until Thursday, Aug. 8
  • Colquitt County Schools
  • Cook County Schools open house postponed to Tuesday, Aug. 6, first day of school Thursday, August 8
  • Crisp County Schools including Early Learning Academy Daycare Center
  • Crisp Academy
  • Dooly County Schools

Colleges/Universities Closings For Monday, August 5:

  • Albany State University will delay opening until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5
  • Albany Technical College’s main campus and off-site Adult Education locations will delay opening on Monday, August 5, 2024.
    All faculty and staff should report to work at 10 am. The campus will open to the public at 10 am.
  • Valdosta State University
  • Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will delay the start of school until Tuesday, Aug. 6
