South Georgia Ruck for Resiliency returns in support of local children and families
THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Community members are invited to get moving for a meaningful cause as the South Georgia Ruck for Resiliency returns on Saturday, November 22. The event takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Vashti Campus, located at 1815 East Clay Street in Thomasville.
The ruck, presented by The Vashti Center and CrossFit Townie, is a 5K walk completed while carrying weight in a backpack. Participants can go at their own pace, making the event accessible for all fitness levels. Whether someone is new to rucking or a seasoned participant, the event offers a chance to get active, meet new people, and support programs that benefit local children and families served by The Vashti Center.
Registration starts at $30 for individuals. Teams may register with a minimum donation of $100, and groups also have the option to participate through a mileage pledge of $10 per mile, per team member. Volunteers are also welcome, and the event qualifies for student service hours.
Those wishing to participate or volunteer can sign up online. Registration for the event is available at https://givebutter.com/s-ga-ruck-nov-22-2025, and individuals who want to volunteer can sign up at https://www.vashti.org/give/volunteer-with-us/.
The South Georgia Ruck for Resiliency is one of several community events supporting The Vashti Center, a faith-based nonprofit providing behavioral health services to children and families across Georgia.
