South Georgia Motorsports Park hosts ‘Lights Out 16’ in Adel

ADEL, Ga. – Over in Adel, Cook County would host its 16th annual ‘Lights Out’ event at the South Georgia Motorsports Park this past weekend…

The event began Thursday and would end Sunday afternoon, with Ken Quartuccio taking home the top prize, as he would win the competition in a record-setting three-point-four seven seconds.

There were other races during the weekend-long event as well, including the ‘Pro 275’, ‘by 275’, ‘Limited Street Race,’ which saw Maddie Malone – one of the only women competing during the weekend – take home the trophy…

“Actually, we got new motor, new transmission, new converter. We put all this stuff in this past week, so we’ve been thrashing, trying to get it ready to come down here. First time running the car since we got all the new stuff put in there. So, we’re a little fast, so we’ve been trying to play with it a little bit, trying to shift points and kind of slow it down to where we can run 6.0. But, we’re doing the best we can with what we got and it seems to be working,” said Maddie Malone.

“Lights Out averages ten or 15,000 people a day. No Mercy does about half that and it’s these these fans are real loyal, and they come out there watching a 5,000 horsepower engines and cars that are look like they’re street legal,” said Donald Long.

The next Radial Outlaws Drag Race will take place March 27th through 29th in North Carolina…
