South Georgia Medical Center Health and the Valdosta-Lowndes County Family YMCA to host one-day safe sitter babysitting course for middle schoolers

VALDOSTA, Ga. – South Georgia Medical Center Health and the Valdosta-Lowndes County Family YMCA are teaming up to offer a one-day safe sitter course for middle schoolers this summer.

Open to students in 6th through 8th grade, the course teaches key skills in first aid, rescue, safety, child care, and even basic business tips.

Hands-on activities, including CPR and choking rescue practice using mannequins, make the lessons engaging and interactive.

Cost is $50 dollars per student, which includes an instructional workbook, breakfast, and lunch. Class size is limited to 20 participants per session, so early registration is recommended.

All classes will be held inside the SGMC Meeting Rooms, near the hospital cafeteria.
