SL Sausage Company opens new store in Valdosta

The new location is now open at 3111 North Oak Street Extension Valdosta, GA 31601

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Grocery stores are an essential, although somewhat tedious, part of everyday life, and the average person is going to spend plenty of time in the various different stores throughout their city. But, here at SL Sausage Company, the goal is to bring people into a place they actively want to come to, not dread going to.

SL Sausage Company is a native South Georgia institution, with a history that hasn’t yet extended past Exit 100 on I-75 North.

“Our first store opened in 2007, in Cordele near Lake Blackshear, and our second location opened in 2009 outside of Leesburg. And, this is our third location and newest, and we just opened up April 20th,” said Garrett Ethridge, General Manager, SL Sausage Company.

As the décor attempts to communicate, this grocery store is going for more of the down home feel, in order to make their customers feel comfortable and at-home.

“We pride ourselves on superior service for our customers, and we like to a personal relationship with our customers. We like to have regulars that come in every day, and who get breakfast and lunch, every day, same thing, that kind of stuff. We just like to make sure people feel appreciated when they come in,” said Ethridge.

In addition to groceries, the store also offers coffee, breakfast, and lunch, with weekends being reserved for sausage dogs. But even that is not the signature offering of SL Sausage Company. So…what is?

“Steak. Our steaks are probably the best in the area. Might be braggadocious, but it’s true. We cut everything fresh each day, we don’t carry anything below choice grade, and then our sausage and jerky of course, it’s made by us,” said Ethridge.
