Skate to the Polls rolls into Albany to encourage early voting ahead of election season

ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University (ASU) and SOWEGA Rising are rolling into election season with a community event designed to get voters energized ahead of early voting. Skate to the Polls takes place this Wednesday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the ASU Amphitheater, offering a free, fun-filled evening for all ages.

Attendees can enjoy live music, skating, giveaways, and more while connecting with neighbors and learning about the importance of participating in upcoming elections. The event is part of a broader effort to encourage voter turnout as early voting in Dougherty County kicks off.

Early voting will continue through October 31, with extended hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on October 23 and October 30, as well as weekend voting opportunities, giving residents plenty of chances to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day.
