Tyla Johnson chokes up when she thinks about what happened to her brother here at the Oak Creek Apartments in Dawson over the weekend.
“In a couple of days, I’m going to be saying my final goodbye to my brother,” said Johnson.
Sunday, 25-year-old Austin Johnson was shot and killed at this apartment complex off Forrester Drive…
The GBI says 22-year-old De’travion Simmons is the one who pulled the trigger.
“I didn’t think when I walked up here that I was going to walk up here to a crime scene and see my baby laying out there on a pavement”, said Johnson.
Johnson says her brother’s killer took a special person.
“He lived with me. To not be able to get that again, that hurts. I wouldn’t wish this pain that I’m feeling on my worst enemy,” said Johnson.
Austin Johnson will be laid to rest Saturday.
Simmons is currently being held at the Terrell County Jail.
