Shooting from altercation between relatives leads to arrests

ALBANY, Ga. – On Wednesday, at approximately 5:30 pm, Albany Police officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of West 1st Avenue in response to an altercation involving relatives 18-year-old Dontavious Ford, 19-year-old Dontiea Ford, and a 17-year-old male.

The altercation resulted in the 17-year-old victim sustaining a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.

Dontavious and Dontiea have been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during certain crimes, and tampering with evidence. Both individuals are currently being held in the Dougherty County Jail.
