Sheriff Sproul invites everyone to upcoming 13th annual “Building Unity in the Community” barbecue and golf tournament
ALBANY, Ga. – One of the sheriff’s office long standing traditions is coming this weekend, and the last one is for the current Dougherty County Sheriff.
The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office will be holding their 13th annual ” Building Unity in the Community” barbecue for members of the public to come and meet the sheriff’s office deputies.
The event was started by long-time sheriff Kevin Sproul in 2010, and even though Sproul will be retiring at the end of the year, he’s still looking forward to bringing the community together for one last barbecue.
“No matter how many people show up, we just appreciate our citizens and what they do and the working relationship they have with us. They provide us so much information. They’re very valuable people in our community. And, we just want them to know that we really care for them,” Sheriff Kevin Sproul, retiring Dougherty County Sheriff.
The “Building Unity in the Community” barbecue will take place Saturday, September 28th at Riverfront Park in the 100 block of North Front Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
