“Shake, Rattle & Run for a Cure” The Howard Center for Women’s Health first-ever Breast Cancer Awareness 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
TIFTON, Ga. – The Howard Center for Women’s Health is turning up the energy for its first-ever Breast Cancer Awareness 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, happening Saturday, October 25.
Called “Shake, Rattle, and Run for a Cure,” the event invites participants to lace up their sneakers and dress in 1950s flair, from poodle skirts and jean jackets to scarves and saddle shoes. It’s all part of a retro-themed morning dedicated to raising awareness and support for breast cancer patients in the community.
Registration opens at 7:15 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m. The route starts and ends at the Howard Center for Women’s Health, located at 1948 Old Ocilla Road in Tifton, looping through Tift County High School’s campus before heading back to the center.
Immediately following the race, runners and attendees can take part in a Breast Cancer Warrior and Survivor Celebration, honoring those currently fighting or who have fought breast cancer.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, in partnership with Never the Same Boutique. Funds will help provide wigs, bras, prosthetics, compression garments, and other essential support items not covered by insurance for breast cancer patients.
Registration is open now, with both individual and family pricing options available. Breast cancer survivors and warriors can register for free.
