Severe weather changes schedule of high school football games
ALBANY, Ga. – A Flood Watch is in effect for several SWGA counties until late tonight or early Saturday morning.
This has prompted several high school football teams to cancel or reschedule their games for this evening.
This list will be updated if more schools announce changes to their schedule due to severe weather.
High School Football Schedule Changes:
- Bradwell Institute vs. Westover – Cancelled
- Tiftarea Academy vs. Turner County – Rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23
- STEM Charter vs. SCAA – Cancelled

Impacts:
Runoff from heavy rainfall may result in flooding of roads, creeks and streams as well as impacting other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details:
A very moist environment is in place across the region. Late afternoon and early evening thunderstorms are expected to develop and produce locally heavy rainfall across the watch
area. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are expected with isolated heavier totals to near 7 inches. These amounts could cause flash flooding.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flash Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
