Ruth’s Cottage & The Patticake House seeking advocates to join their mission to helping abuse victims
TIFTON, Ga. – Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House currently have open positions and seek advocates to join their mission.
Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House, a pillar of hope in the community, are searching for individuals to join their mission of providing life-changing support to those in need.
This organization serves as a beacon of strength for victims, offering a wide array of critical services such as emergency shelter, advocacy, and mental health support. Their reach extends across Tift, Turner, Ben Hill, Irwin, and Worth counties.
“As a domestic violence prevention program, we have emergency shelters. Victims can come and stay until they get on their feet for safety in another location. We also have an illegal advocacy that provides protection orders to people that want to stay in their homes, but need protection to keep an abuser away from them. And, so, as we provide these services, we rely a lot on different community entities and businesses to help make things easier for these victims. We have a very close relationship with law enforcement, the medical community, the substance abuse recovery community; with GED classes and those involved with literacy, and jobs. We have a close partnership with a local industry that helps by hiring some of our ladies. So, we work with a lot of the community to provide for these victims,” said Nancy Bryan, Executive Director, Ruth’s Cottage & The Patticake House.
Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House are hiring for several impactful positions.
Full-time opportunities include an Administrative Assistant, who will serve as the welcoming face of the organization, managing office operations, supporting the team, and ensuring a professional and compassionate environment.
Strong communication and multitasking skills are vital for this role.
They are also seeking a legal advocate, a critical position dedicated to guiding clients through the process of obtaining protective orders and providing support during what can be an overwhelming experience.
Additionally, part-time positions are also available for intimate partner violence and shelter advocates. These roles involve providing direct support to victims, including hospital visits and on-call assistance, with overnight and holiday shifts scheduled in advance.
Each role comes with in-depth training, thorough screenings, and the opportunity to create a lasting impact in the lives of others.
