Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House to host annual Candlelight Vigil for Domestic Violence Awareness Month at SRTC Tifton Campus
TIFTON, Ga. – As October marks National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Tifton community is coming together to honor survivors, remember those lost, and raise awareness about the ongoing impact of domestic violence. Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House will host their annual Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday, October 9th at 5:30 p.m. at Southern Regional Technical College’s Tifton Campus, Conference Room C 106.
The vigil offers a quiet, reflective space for the community to acknowledge the strength and resilience of survivors. Americus Police Chief Mark Scott will speak about the challenges and realities of responding to domestic violence calls, while survivor Jessica Richardson will share her personal story, highlighting the courage it takes to heal and move forward.
The event is a meaningful opportunity to stand in solidarity with victims, learn more about available resources, and foster a stronger, more supportive community. Attendees are encouraged to bring a friend and participate in this powerful evening of reflection and awareness.
