Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House partners with Ahimsa House to host Pet Advocacy Meeting for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
TIFTON, Ga. – On the first day of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a special meeting in Tifton will shine a light on how domestic violence impacts both survivors and their pets.
Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House will host the event on Wednesday, October 1, from noon to 1 p.m. at their Administrative Building, located at 211 Chesnutt Avenue in Tifton.
The session is led by Ahimsa House, Georgia’s first and only organization dedicated solely to helping people and pets find safety together. The meeting will focus on ways to strengthen connections in South Georgia, highlight volunteer opportunities, and introduce the Regional Ambassador Volunteer Position for those interested in becoming official representatives of Ahimsa House.
Organizers encourage participation from human services staff, law enforcement personnel, animal welfare workers, and community members who want to better understand the link between domestic violence and animal cruelty.
Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by emailing Kathy Kerst at kkerst@rcpch.net or reach out to one@ahimsahouse.org.
