Sheriff of Dooly County, Craig Peavy, talks about what Tyee Browne meant to the community.
CORDELE, Ga. – Crisp County gathered together to honor the life of Sheriff’s Deputy Tyee Browne.
Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyee Michael Browne died early Wednesday morning, July 5, 2023 while on duty.
Sheriff of Dooly County, Craig Peavy, talks about what Tyee Browne meant to the community.
“He was a young man that loved to come to work and respected everyone who worked with him. He did everything he could for everybody that worked with him. This agency is hurting right now and we’re hurting with them. Everybody you see here today is a prime example of how we stick together and it affects everybody,” said Sheriff Craig Peavy, Dooly County Sheriff’s Office.
Peavy talked about the support among law enforcement in the wake of Browne’s passing.
“This is Crisp County, Georgia, and it connects to Dooly County, and Turner. Most everybody knows everybody, so it’s not like a big metro area. We got people here from metro areas. They don’t know us, but they’re here because they wanna be here and show support and that’s what it’s all about,” said Sheriff Peavy.
“Tyee Browne means to me the same thing another officer somewhere else means. He puts that badge and gun on, and he goes out to do a job, and we’re gonna be right there until the end,” said Sheriff Peavy.
