R.W. Griffin Feed, Seed & Fertilizer, Inc. celebrates ribbon cutting for new corporate headquarters in downtown Douglas

DOUGLAS, Ga. – December 15, 2025 – R.W. Griffin Feed, Seed & Fertilizer, Inc., one of the Southeast’s largest privately owned and diversified agribusinesses, celebrated the grand opening of its new corporate headquarters today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted in partnership with the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce.

The new headquarters is located in the newly renovated historic Coca-Cola Bottling Building in Downtown Douglas and serves as the central home for the company’s leadership and administrative teams supporting operations across Georgia. The investment reflects both the company’s continued growth and its long-standing commitment to Georgia agriculture and the Douglas community.

The ceremony featured remarks from Ben Floyd, Chairman of the Douglas–Coffee County Chamber of Commerce; Jeff Hennesy, Chairman of the Downtown Development Authority; and Tony Paulk, Mayor of the City of Douglas. The invocation was led by Pastor Paul Elliot of Douglas First Methodist Church.

“This new location represents nearly 50 years of expansion and evolution in how we serve Georgia’s growers,” said Ralph Evans, President of R.W. Griffin Feed, Seed & Fertilizer, Inc. “Bringing our team together under one roof strengthens our ability to support customers, employees, and future growth while honoring the history of this community.”

During the event, State Representative Angie O’Steen (Georgia House District 169) presented Evans with a proclamation from the Georgia House of Representatives, recognizing his lifelong dedication to agriculture and his many contributions to the agricultural industry across the State of Georgia.

Founded in 1922 by Ralph Waldo Griffin, R.W. Griffin Feed, Seed & Fertilizer, Inc. has grown into a comprehensive agricultural services provider offering crop inputs such as fertilizer, seed, crop protection products, and precision-applied nutrients; agronomy services including soil sampling, crop consulting, variable-rate technology, and field analytics; retail agricultural centers; cotton ginning, peanut buying, and grain handling operations; and wholesale fertilizer distribution throughout the Southeast.

Today, the R.W. Griffin family of companies includes 21 agricultural retail stores, seven wholesale fertilizer terminals, two cotton gins, and four peanut buying points, servicing hundreds of thousands of acres of Georgia farmland each year.

The company is led by Ralph Evans, grandson of founder Ralph Waldo Griffin. Evans began working in the family business at the age of nine and formally joined the company in 1977 after attending East Tennessee State University. Under his leadership, R.W. Griffin has grown from three small locations with 25 employees into a network of 42 operating companies employing more than 500 people.

Evans was recently inducted into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame on March 21, 2025, during the 69th University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) Alumni Association Awards and Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame Ceremony, further solidifying his legacy of leadership and service to Georgia agriculture.
