Phoenix at Albany provides senior living and cultivates community to senior citizens

ALBANY, Ga. – The Phoenix at Albany is a company built on a love that spans across generations and they are always looking for new ways to not only assist seniors, but to also cultivate a community.

The Phoenix at Albany is one of the 60+ Phoenix Living Senior Communities, serving seniors across the southeast.

“We really strive to help your loved ones age in place with the help of care partners to help keep them out of the nursing home. We have about a 98 to 99% success rate with that. At Phoenix we also believe in community outreach, it’s very important to us to give back to the community that supports us,” said Rina Pope, Executive Director.

“We try to reach the 6 dimensions of wellness to help our residents. The first one would be like physical. We actually offer sit and be fit as a chair exercise. Cognitive, do a lot of like trivia games. Social, when we have new residents come in, we have a big social. Like a little party for the new residents to make them feel welcome. Just talking with the residents. Giving them a sense of purpose. We have resident council, so the residents can come together and talk about what’s going on in our community,” said Christopher Hobson, Program Director.

Program director, Christopher Hobson, talks about incorporating technology at their location…

“We have some iPads, so with that, there is some interactive games so we can do something more one on one with that. We’re thinking of trying to maybe get with Albany Tech or ASU to see if they could possibly partner with us,” said Hobson.
