Pathfinders Club of Albany to host fundraiser for International Pathfinders Camporee Trip in Wyoming

ALBANY, Ga. – The Pathfinders Club of Albany is hosting a fundraiser for their International Pathfinders Camporee Trip in Wyoming.

Sponsored by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the Pathfinders Club of Albany offers a variety of activities and is an ideal choice for children between 10 and 15 years of age.

Yvette Cooper, Deputy Director of the Pathfinders Club, provides further details about the club’s mission and discusses its positive impact on youth participants.

“So, this is a club that meets almost every Sunday and some Saturdays we meet, and we’re working on a lot of different, you know, similar to the Girls and Boy Scouts where they earn patches like you see here. So, they’re learning about nature, they’re learning about other household things. They’re learning about scientific information that will help them to just be better citizens as they grow in their academic journey,” said Yvette Cooper, Albany Pathfinders, Deputy Director.

“I’ve been in Pathfinders for two years. And, my favorite thing about Pathfinders is, well, when we go camping, you know, going outside at night, sleeping in the wilderness and hanging out with friends,” said Joseph Gonzales, Pathfinders member.

“I’ve been in Pathfinders for about maybe four years. My experience here has been great. And, my favorite part of Pathfinders is, well of course, the spiritual part, like we get to learn a lot of stuff about God with our friends, it makes it fun,” said Amie Amparo, Pathfinders member.

“I’ve been in pathfinders for about four years now. Coming on like amie said, I started when I was ten, you get to do activities that you can’t necessarily do in school because of our religion, you know, worshiping the Sabbath and things. So, it allows us to do the same activities that we want to do, but in a way that we can with that we don’t have to miss out,” said Charlyn Fox, Pathfinders member.

You can contribute to the Pathfinder Club’s journey to Wyoming for their International Pathfinders Camporee Trip by visiting their yard sale fundraiser on Sunday, May 5th, from 9 am to 4 pm.
