Part 2: Online health and fitness coach ZsaTiera White
LOS ANGELES, Cal. – Can you share a little bit about the benefits that come with eating plant-based? Even though it might a hard transition for some people, just talk about some of the benefits you get once you finally transition to that…
“Let’s just start with your cognitive health. Your brain health is most important, and that is what a plant-based diet truly pushes. But, plant based, you can still still have your grass fed meats, your clean cuts. I don’t have any animal products in my diet at all, no dairy, so that helps me stay clear and clean of any toxins. My family has a past history of breast cancer, multiple sclerosis (MS), a few other things that I have, like obesity in my family. So, in order for me to do my best to change the narrative and change the trajectory of my life and in my son’s life, I decided, let me do something a little bit healthier. I had a cyst on my ovaries. I had cancerous cells in my pap smear and high cholesterol and was able to turn that all around by simply sticking with a plant based diet. And again, that’s not the end all be all, it is something that I had ran into. I first started off by not eating pork, then pork started to make me sick. So, then, I started just eating chicken and turkey. Then that started to make me sick. Then I transitioned to just eating all seafood that started to make me sick. But, the more I started to eat healthier and clean foods, my body just started to reject certain things. So, from there, I just started to listen to my body. I was able to become my healthiest version, because I was able to start being clear minded and listen to my body to make decisions that work best for me,” said ZsaTiera White, online health & fitness coach.
I have been a client of Zsa’s as well. I have literally been the healthiest I have ever been because of her. She is so vulnerable with her clients. She is not afraid to tell you how far she has come. How did you get to that point where you were able to be that vulnerable with your clients?
“When you’re anything anybody else is aspiring to be, you take on a very big responsibility. I’m walking around, I’m fit, I look good, and everybody’s like, I want to look like that. But, I had to be transparent with the fact that at that time I had just become a mother. I just had my seven year old son. I was married at the time and I was going through a very rough time in my relationship. What I was doing was trying to figure out what I can do in a positive manner that will actually benefit me and try to burn some steam and earn some energy. I just so happened to go and choose the gym and that’s my everybody’s path. I want people to know that everything is a process and a hard process. I was going through certain things and I wanted to reach a certain place in my life, and that drove me to just try and trial and error; and that is important because I’m not a perfect person. I didn’t just say I wanted to be healthier, I wanted to be fitter, I wanted to be plant-based. I went through all these different things and people have to figure out what is that one thing that works for you, that takes you from a to b to be your best? So, there is no perfect one-size-fits-all. So if I tell you that, then it’s like, okay, I feel more comfortable taking my time and running my own race and going on my own journey instead of mimicking, I want what she has, so I have to do what she does,” she said.
