Moultrie Police Chief departs, Interim Chief named
MOULTRIE, Ga. – In a post on the City of Moultrie – Government Facebook page, in an announcement, City Manager Pete Dillard shared that Police Chief Sean Ladson will be departing from the Moultrie Police Department after seven years of dedicated service. Chief Ladson, widely recognized for his accomplishments, has been pivotal in fostering strong relationships with various law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders.
During Chief Ladson’s tenure, he cultivated a healthy and collaborative partnership with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Secret Service, U.S. Marshal Service, and neighboring communities. City Manager Pete Dillard commended Ladson’s achievements: “Chief Ladson has accomplished great things during the last seven years.”
Chief Ladson expressed gratitude for the extraordinary opportunity to serve the citizens of Moultrie as the Chief of Police. He acknowledged the support and cooperation he received from passionate law enforcement personnel, city employees, city officials, and community leaders. Ladson emphasized the collective commitment to the community’s well-being, saying, “Everyone I have worked with cares deeply for this community.”
Reflecting on his time in Moultrie, Chief Ladson highlighted the dedicated efforts of city leaders and employees in working towards a brighter future for the community. In a heartfelt homecoming, Chad Castleberry has returned to his roots as the Interim Chief of the Moultrie Police Department. A Colquitt County native and proud graduate of Colquitt County High School, Chad’s journey has come full circle as he steps into a crucial role for the community.
Chad’s policing career began in 1990 right here in Moultrie, shaping his dedication and passion for law enforcement. His commendable career led him to become Chief in Adel, GA, for 18 years, where he further honed his skills and knowledge. Now, he’s back in Moultrie, ready to serve the community that shaped him.
Known for his commitment to transparency, Chad believes in an open-door policy, inviting community members to actively contribute their input. A family man at heart, Chad and his wife Vickie, are the proud parents of two children, Gage and Josh.
Chad has a Masters in Public Administration, and brings a wealth of education and experience to his interim role. City Manager Pete Dillard applauds Chad as approachable and highly skilled in leading, managing, and motivating teams.
