Moultrie Olympian Carson Tyler welcome home parade preview
MOULTRIE, Ga. – While the Olympic games continue in France, a community thousands of miles away is already preparing for a hero’s welcome.
The Moultrie Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is getting ready to welcome home Colquitt county native Carson Tyler later this August.
The city will host a parade in Tyler’s honor after his return from France.
We spoke with Moultrie Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Director Caroline Barber about the hero’s welcome and the community’s excitement for Tyler, no matter the outcome.
“It is incredible to know that a homegrown boy from right here in Moultrie, Georgia, is competing in the Olympics, going for gold and just doing his best. His families over there cheering him on. And, we’re here at home cheering him on as well… The parade, we can’t wait for it. We’re encouraging everybody to wear red, white and blue, line the streets, cheer for Carson, and just let them know, hey, we’re proud of you. You went to the Olympics. That’s an incredible feat. And, he’s just doing a great job and we’re so proud of him,” said Caroline Barber, director, Moultrie Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
The festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 22nd, in downtown Moultrie.
