Moultrie-Colquitt Co. Chamber of Commerce hosts Coffee & Commerce event

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Moultrie-Colquitt Co. Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Coffee and Commerce event.

The chamber invited the community to warm-up with a cup of coffee – or cocoa – during a festive, holiday-themed networking event.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of delicious food while mingling and sharing the holiday spirit.

“Our Coffee and Commerce is our event where we do a lot of networking. And, normally a business in our community hosts it, one of our members. Our members just get to network with each other or any community member get to network and just catch up on what’s going on in their business. It is just a time really right before work, to sit there, catch up and take your time to enjoy the day,” said Caitlyn Hatcher, President & CEO, Moultrie-Colquitt Co. Chamber of Commerce.

As a part of their efforts to give back to the community, the chamber hosted special giveaways during the event – a tradition they continue at many of their events throughout the year.

“We love to do our “Colquitt-opoly.” They’re just a fun game for all families to play. Our “Colquitt-opoly” also showcases all of our businesses in our downtown area, our banks in our local area. Some businesses on the outskirts in Colquitt county. And, then usually we give away “Colquitt cash” as well. And for us, that’s just a way to keep our money local. So, “Colquitt cash” can be spent anywhere in town that’s a chamber member. And, so, it just gives back that money to our local businesses that are keeping us as a chamber in business,” said Hatcher.

Caitlyn Hatcher, President & CEO for the Moultrie-Colquitt Co. Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of events like these in bringing together businesses and individuals from diverse backgrounds to connect and collaborate.

“I think it’s important for all of our backgrounds to mix and mingle. You know, everybody can have a little bit of help from a different business, you’re in the banking industry and you might have a question about HR. We all have an  HR department, regardless of what business it is. So, we all have similar people in our community, in our businesses that we’re able to mix together. So, it’s really important just to bring those together. And, it’s our community. And, so, we want to have a strong bond in our community,” said Hatcher.

“We would love to have new members. They can call into our office directly at 229-985-2131, or they can send us an email. Go online on Facebook. We have social media, we have our website. There’s many different ways to contact us, but we have a membership director who will be more than glad to help, myself as well. So, any of our staff can help with that,” said Hatcher.
