“I thank the gentlemen that came out this morning to support us, that meant a lot to me. Many of them have played a role in my life, so I really appreciate them coming out. We know that it takes a village to raise a child ad I know the many hands that played a role in shaping and forming my life and making sure I didn’t go down the wrong path. So, this morning we wanted to bring some gentlemen in to help support the students walk in through our doors so that they will know that there are some other people that care about them. And if we bring the whole community together, then we can make a difference in the lives of our children,” said Dr. Frederick E. Polite, Principal of Monroe High School.

Principle Polite talks about how the teachers and staff at the home of the Golden Tornadoes plan to keep student motivated.

“We’re going to bring in motivational speakers, we celebrate our students on a regular basis, even for small achievements, because sometimes waiting for long periods of time isn’t good enough for our children. So we want to celebrate them on a regular basis, whether it’s at the beginning of a nine weeks, end of 4 or 41/2 week period. We have a number of things that’s going on. This year we’re gonna bring in motivational speakers. We have community members that are coming in and sharing with our students in the classroom. Whether it be CTAE, fine arts, or in the academic classes, we have individuals coming in at a regular basis to share with our students,” he said.
