Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant, a culinary spotlight in America’s Best Restaurants series
ALBANY, Ga. – Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant takes center stage in the latest feature of America’s Best Restaurants.
Albany welcomes America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company dedicated to showcasing local independently-owned eateries. As filming kicks off, the spotlight is on Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant, featuring popular dishes and a comprehensive on-camera interview with owners Felipe and Jennifer Zamudio.
Felipe and Jennifer discuss the distinctive qualities that set Mi Casa apart from other restaurants, offering insights into what makes their establishment unique.
“I was working for maybe over ten years in a Mexican restaurant, a local Mexican restaurant, and it’s more like Tex-Mex. So, whenever we decide to open a restaurant, it’s like, okay, we need to bring authentic Mexican food. Like handmade tortillas, sopes, that’s one of my favorite things, tlayudas. And we decide, let’s do half Tex-Mex, because we want everybody to feel welcome to this restaurant. So, let’s bring half Tex-Mex and half authentic Mexican food,” said Felipe Zamudio, Owner, Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant.
Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant prioritizes quality service and food by taking thorough steps to ensure quality food, including the practice of personally tasting each dish before it earns a place on the menu.
“I just want to say like we are working so hard behind the scenes to bring new things for Albany. Whatever we put it on on the menu we try first, we call, especially my mom in Mexico. I tell her, “I need to put something new, what do you recommend?” So she gives me the recipe, I’ll just make it here one or two times. We try it out and if everybody says, “good,” we put it on the menu,” said Felipe Zamudio, Owner, Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant.
