MCLB Albany to conduct tornado drill

MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE ALBANY, Ga. — Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is taking part in Severe Weather Preparedness Week (Thunderstorm Preparedness), Feb. 6, 2024.

The state of Georgia conducts a semi-annual tornado drill, February and October, in coordination with the National Weather Service prior to the start of tornado season so personnel know what actions to take at work and at home. Thunderstorms are a common occurrence in Georgia, especially during the spring and summer months.

The drill will be initiated utilizing all components of the Installation Mass Notification Warning System. MCLB Albany will be sounding its sirens and Giant Voice at 9 a.m. on the day of the drill. These may be heard off the installation.
