Man wanted in Camilla captured after assaulting elderly man on New Year’s Day

CAMILLA, Ga. – The Camilla Police Department reported on its Facebook page that Jacquez Jamon Walker was captured on his warrants.

The Camilla Police Department is actively investigating an Aggravated Assault involving an elderly victim that reportedly occurred on the north side of Camilla on January 1, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants have been issued for Jacquez Jamon Walker, of Camilla, Georgia. Mr. Walker is currently wanted on the following charges:

•Aggravated Assault
•Aggravated Assault on a Person 65 Years of Age or Older
• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
• Criminal Street Gang Participation

According to investigators, it is alleged that Mr. Walker struck the victim, Mr. James Silas age 76, in the back of the head with a firearm, resulting in bodily injury to Mr. Silas’s head.
At this time, Jacquez Jamon Walker remains at large. The Camilla Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Walker. Anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement. The public is advised not to approach the suspect.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
