Man found deceased in Irwin Co.

MYSTIC, Ga. – A man was found deceased early Friday morning, according to Irwin County Deputy Coroner Tim Chaney.

The deceased male was reportedly to be attending a bonfire with friends in a yard overnight. Around 3 a.m., one of the friends left the man unattended by the fire.

The friend returned during the early morning hours to find the man unresponsive. Emergency officials responded, and he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Deputy Coroner Chaney says the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been notified, but is not actively investigating at this time.
