Man found dead in car at Southbound Rest Area in Turner Co., GBI, officials investigating

TURNER Co., Ga. – A man was found dead at the Southbound Rest Area off I-75 in Turner County around 1:37 p.m. Monday, March 25.

Turner County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner Jim Lumpkin confirm the man, a resident from Florida is in his mid 20s.

Officials say it is unclear what the cause of death is at this time, but his body had been there for several days.

Coroner Lumpkin says no foul play is suspected, and is pending notification of family at this time.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is actively investigating the incident.
