Man arrested in Americus homicide investigation
AMERICUS, Ga. – 25-year-old Quaderious Deshawn Davis surrendered to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a late Monday evening shooting incident.
Americus Police Department officers responded to Eastview Apartments, discovering two gunshot victims. Both victims were taken to Phoebe Sumter Regional Medical Center by EMS.
22-year-old Jahlin Sims died at the hospital, while the second victim, 27-year-old Anfranee Smothers, received treatment at a Macon Trauma Center and was later discharged.
Davis faces charges of murder, aggravated battery, and possessing a firearm during a felony.
