Man arrested and charged with sexual assault in Americus

AMERICUS, Ga. – On Sunday, officers responded to a sexual assault call at the 100 block of Strife Street in Americus.

The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown black male while she was walking down the street.

After an investigation, officers arrested 45-year-old John Bernard Gallamore.

He is currently in the Sumter County Jail, and has been charged with five felony counts related to assault.

This is an ongoing investigation, and there may be additional charges.
