Man arrested after shooting in Dougherty Co.

ALBANY, Ga. – The Dougherty County Police Department swiftly responded to a shooting at 3011 Calvary Road on Thursday, involving a 23-year-old suspect identified as Jai-Quille Martin.

Around 8:40 pm, Martin arrived at the location and discharged multiple rounds both inside and outside the residence. Although three individuals were inside at the time, fortunately, no injuries were reported. Responding officers promptly apprehended the suspect at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Martin, related to the occupants of the residence, claimed he was being pursued. Witnesses indicated martin might have been under the influence of an unknown substance. The weapon used in the incident has been recovered.

Martin is currently in custody, facing charges that include three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
