“Unfortunately, Lee County is not immune to the type of reckless and criminal behavior that occurred in this incident. While we are grateful that shootings are rare, let us be very clear: this WILL NOT be tolerated in Lee County. Criminal acts involving firearms will be dealt with swiftly, and we will pursue maximum accountability for violators. If you are a convicted felon and still choose to possess a firearm, Lee County is not the place for you. This is a non-negotiable, go to jail every time kind of thing. Furthermore, in some cases, we may seek federal prosecution for felons in possession of firearms.”
“As always, we encourage anyone engaged in criminal activity to stay out or get out of Lee County.”
“We would like to thank our friends with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office for their quick response and assistance in apprehending this suspect. There is nothing better than having good neighbors.” – Lee County Sheriff’s Office
