(LEESBURG, GA) – The Lee County Community came together again today to help those struggling with food insecurity.

The Lee County Family Connection, alongside Leesburg police and Feeding the Valley Food Bank gave out more than 400 boxes worth of food to county residents.

Family Connection Executive Director, Patsy Shirley says that despite moving to bi-weekly distributions, they plan on continuing as long as it’s needed in Lee County.

She says, “With our current situation, with our case numbers spiking up, that will certainly impact everyone’s lives and their need for food. Food insecurity in the community is a great need right now, so we’ll have to re-evaluate…”

Shirley also says that they initially planned to stop in August, though that’s likely changed.
