Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office seeking man on multiple arrest warrants
LEESBURG, Ga. – Last Thursday, May 30th, a traffic stop was carried out by a Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputy at Forrester Parkway and Old Leesburg Road.
The driver, identified as Cornelius Wayne Evans, refused to exit the vehicle despite the deputy detecting the odor of marijuana.
Evans fled the scene, leading to a high-speed pursuit on Old Leesburg Road, reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph. The pursuit was terminated after Evans collided with another vehicle at the intersection of North Jefferson Street and Philema Road South.
Evans, driving a dark blue 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, is now wanted for felony fleeing and attempting to elude, with active arrest warrants issued. Any information on Evans’ whereabouts should be reported to 229-759-6012.
