Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office searching for armed robbery suspect in SpongeBob mask

LEESBURG, Ga. – Around 12:35 a.m. Thursday, an unidentified individual entered the Philema Express gas station located at 1505 Philema Road in South Leesburg.

The suspect then proceeded to force the store clerk at gunpoint to empty the cash register. The individual wore a distinctive mask and concealed the firearm with a cloth material.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in identifying the person involved in this armed robbery. If you have any information regarding this individual, please contact the sheriff’s office promptly at 229-759-6012.
